Someone asked a bunch of writers— of which I was one— “What piece of writing advice has helped you most?”

My answer was: the entirety of the book THE STORY GRID. It is earth-shifting. How I got by without knowing its wisdom, I can’t guess, other than that I was doing a lot of what it suggests by instinct.
